Product Information
The T63W is a versatile High-SPL in-wall speaker that excels in home theaters, recording studios, and professional environments. It stands out with its solid construction and easy installation. The robust steel enclosure gives the speaker an elegant appearance – whether you use it without a grille or with the magnetic front grille for a more subtle look.
Thanks to its 3-way design and perfectly tuned drivers, the T63W delivers an impressive soundstage and powerful dynamics. Whether installed in small or large rooms, this speaker consistently provides clear and precise sound reproduction, a hallmark of AperionAudio.
AMT Tweeter
Why does Theatrus use an AMT tweeter for home theaters? Our engineers have been working on various materials for AMT tweeters since 2008. In 2018, this research led to the development of the AMT tweeter for the SuperTweeter series. This AMT offers a sensitivity of 103dB, combined with excellent resolution. For use in the new home theater series, a special protection circuit was added to ensure distortion-free sound even in large rooms with maximum dynamics.
What makes the Theatrus AMT tweeter so unique? There are essentially two types of tweeters: PA tweeters, which typically have a high sensitivity of more than 100 dB, or HiFi tweeters, which often have a lower sensitivity of 92 dB or less. PA tweeters can handle high sound pressures found in home theaters but offer less resolution and detail compared to HiFi tweeters. Thus, using a PA tweeter for the Theatrus series was out of the question. A different solution was needed, and the AperionAudio AMT tweeter is the optimal result.
2" Dome Midrange Drivers
Midrange drivers have a particularly demanding task in home theater systems. On the one hand, they need to add structure and detail to the sound, while on the other hand, their dispersion must ideally cover the entire seating area. Additionally, unwanted reflections from walls, floors, and ceilings need to be minimized. To meet this challenge, the Theatrus series uses two specially arranged 2" dome midrange drivers. These are equipped with a low-distortion 50mm voice coil. In the lower midrange, this ensures perfect impulse fidelity, even at high power levels. In the upper midrange, the domes excel with their extremely even dispersion and unparalleled clarity. The special arrangement helps avoid reflections from floors and ceilings, allowing a row of listeners to enjoy perfect sound.
6.5" Curv™ Woofers
It is a real challenge to produce a large woofer that offers both high sensitivity and detailed sound quality. This applies to all traditional cone materials such as paper, aluminum, Kevlar, or woven fiberglass. Instead, the woofers of the Theatrus series use a special Curv™ material from the German manufacturer Propex. This material combines key properties: it is lightweight, rigid, and highly temperature resistant without absorbing water. The key to its exceptionally precise sound, however, is its extraordinarily high modulus of elasticity and high internal damping. All of these properties are achieved without the use of adhesives or resins, which are common in many other materials. This gives the Theatrus woofers a decisive advantage: adhesives and resins degrade sound quality during manufacturing. Ultimately, the Curv™ woofers deliver exactly what the Theatrus line needs: high sensitivity and outstanding sound quality with detailed resolution.
Sound Adjustment Options
More and more home theater owners want the widest possible screen for the best cinematic experience and therefore opt for acoustically transparent screens placed in front of the speakers. Unfortunately, even the best acoustically transparent screens noticeably dampen the high frequencies, reducing the audio experience. For this reason, the speakers of the Theatrus series feature a rear switch. If the speaker is placed next to the screen, set the switch to "Free Field." If the speaker is positioned behind an acoustically transparent screen, the switch should be set to "Acoustic Screen," which compensates for the high-frequency damping through the sophisticated crossover.
Magnetic Front Grilles
The magnets ensure a perfect hold for the front grille, allowing for easy attachment while maintaining a flawless speaker front with no visible mounting holes. The black acoustic fabric is completely opaque and fully sound transparent. It also effectively protects the speaker from possible damage.
High-Quality Multi-Layer Finish
The finish of the Theatrus series uses a special anti-reflective coating in Stealth Black. This multi-layered coating significantly reduces stray light and ensures an even better image in your home theater.
Easy Installation
The installation of the Theatrus T63W in-wall speaker is simple and user-friendly. First, mark the desired location of the speaker using the included cut-out template. Then, cut the opening to the exact size. After connecting the speaker wires, insert the speaker module into the prepared opening. Secure the speaker in the wall with a few screws. Finally, attach the front grille – and your installation is complete. Now, you can look forward to an impressive sound experience that will exceed your expectations.
