However, many speakers, even some high-end models, struggle to accurately convey these high-frequency subtleties. This is where AperionAudio’s engineers and acousticians stepped in, developing the High Sensitivity Dual AMT Super Tweeter, designed to deliver exceptional clarity and precision in the upper frequency range.
The new High Sensitivity model takes performance to the next level, boasting an increased sensitivity of an impressive 103 dB, which is 7 dB higher than the previous model. This improved efficiency allows for an even more powerful performance, particularly at higher volumes. High Sensitivity Dual AMT (Air Motion Transformer)
Among the many concepts for building a loudspeaker transducer, the Air Motion Transformer is unique in its way of setting the air in motion. Many different transducer designs have been introduced throughout loudspeaker history. All have piston-like diaphragms that move the air in a 1: 1 ratio so that the diaphragm speed corresponds to the air speed.
The Air Motion Transformer, on the other hand, is an electromagnetic driver and is based on the Lorentz force, which moves the air in the individual folds. The membrane itself is printed with aluminum conductor tracks (violet arrows) and surrounded by a strong magnetic field. The resulting air flow (blue arrows) is four times (!) Faster than the movement of the individual folds. This offers huge advantages when playing music signals with fast transients (cymbals, plugged-in guitar strings, etc.).
Each Dual AMT Super Tweeter has two such AMTs, one at the front and one at the rear. This dual design ensures an incomparable spatiality in the sound and an even wider stage image.
Five selectable crossover frequencies
With the rear rotary control, you can activate the super-tweeter from a lower crossover frequency of 8 kHz, 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 14 kHz, 16 kHz or switch it off completely. This gives you maximum flexibility when you integrate the Super Tweeter into your system. You can more or less overlap your existing tweeter to lighten the sound from the 8 kHz or 10 kHz crossover frequency, or you simply let the Super Tweeter fill the gap above 14 kHz or 16 kHz.
Flexible sound adaptation
On the back of the Super Tweeter the sound can be further refined with the help of a second rotary knob. The treble can be adjusted from 0 dB to -5 dB in six steps. So the sound can be optimally adapted to your speakers, the room and your own taste.
Flexible connection terminal
The gold-plated connection terminals on the speaker backside ensure the best possible support for your speaker cables. The clamps also allow the connection of banana plugs or cable lugs. Thus a secure connection and best signal transmission is always guaranteed.
